New Years Resolutions!

Each year, in December and January, many people focus on creating “New Year’s Resolutions.” These resolutions are usually goals we set for ourselves that often focus on health and wellness. In 2022, consider making kidney health part of your New Year’s resolution. The Central Illinois Chapter (CIC) of The Links, Incorporated is here to assist you in the achievement of this resolution. Join our Black K.A.R.E. (Kidney Awareness Resources & Education) Program and become more informed about chronic kidney disease (CKD) and why it has a disproportionate impact on African American people.

Visit https://tinyurl.com/BK-2022 to learn about risk factors, symptoms, diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of CKD within the African American community.

We encourage you to take the Black K.A.R.E. Program Pledge (www.ciclinks-blackkare.info) which exists to:

  • Help you improve your kidney health awareness,

  • Equip you with information to share with family and friends

  • Provide incentives to help keep you motivated to achieve your resolution.

Before we close out 2021, let’s link together and begin working to change the narrative about Kidney disease in African American people being a major public health issue.
